Blog Journal #2
I began using Microsoft Word when I was in the 6th grade and became accustomed to it very quickly. We had a required class on computers and learned how to use Microsoft Word in order to do assignments. After that class I continued to use this software in order to write essays and short assignments, even projects for school. Teachers use Microsoft Word for many things such as notes for class that day, worksheets, letters, even permission slips.
Copyright is a huge deal today, students are taking material off of the internet without permission and making it as their own. I don't personally have any experience with copyright but I have witnessed some of it. For example, YouTube is a very popular platform right now on the internet and if someone posts a video with music in the background and never asked for consent to use it, that’s considered copyright. A lot of people download music illegally on their phones or laptops as well as watching pirated movies. As a teacher, first of all, I would make sure i'm not using any copyrighted material and showing my students. Second, i would educate them on the importance of the subject and also the consequences, it's important for them to be knowledgeable on the subject so they don't make any of those mistakes.
One of the 3 technology implementation issues im going to talk about is copyright. I know I just went over this issue but it's too important not to. A solution to this would be avoiding any copyright at all, I would use the internet legally and teach my students the importance of it. The next issue is cyberbullying. A solution for this may be talking with my students on this issue and sharing the consequences that could happen if they partaken in it. If one of my students was a victim, I would immediately report it and be a support for the student. The third issue is academic honesty. A solution to this would be not tolerating it at all in the classroom, I would first educate them on what academic honesty is and if it is not to be followed, I would punish accordingly.
